NEMADJI POTTERY VASE
Minnesota, Mid 20th Century
H 7 x W 5 x D 3
This vase features a glowing red veining all throughout its body. The swirling and marbling colors of Nemadji pots are unique to each piece, with the exterior unglazed and the interior treated with a quick swish of shellac, recycled from pot to pot, creating a beautiful patina.
Nemadji Pottery pieces were popular during the Mid-20th century, marketed with a Native-American backstory to lure naïve tourists despite of having no ties with the Ojibwe Tribe.
Condition - wear consistent with age.
