This gargoulette features an unglazed exterior with black spots uniformly painted to create inverted triangles on the top and diamonds throughout the center of the body.
A symbolic style of pottery from the South of France, the gargoulette is a terracotta jug that French farmers would tie to their waists, hence the small piece of rope in this piece, to keep water fresh and relatively cool while they work.
